Linking

Linking to and from other websites will help your search results on Google. Linking has little impact on Yahoo and MSN. With Google they have included a measuring device that determines many factors for SERPS placement. With Google part of the SERPS are determined by how many relevant websites are pointing or have a link on their website that is going to your website. 

So if I put a link on my website that shoots someone over to your website it is known as a link and is now part of a linking strategy from one website to another. Today I see a mass campaign for linking structure within Google. People wanting to throw money at “Linking”, which in the end will never get them to page one or improve their SERPS.

The mass wave of linking farms and hysterical link building has only helped the top 1% or so.
